SHE GAVE
WINGS TO DREAMS
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our cherished Aviator, Dr. Tammera L. Holmes. Tammera devoted her life to establishing a pathway in aviation and broke down doors for women and young urban children nationwide. From Kindergarten to career, she provided students with diverse aviation and STEM opportunities.
On Sunday, December 1, 2024, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, Tammera gained another set of wings—her heavenly wings. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported the family during this time with prayers, meals, donations, calls, kind words, and virtual hugs. The family will share details regarding services at a later date.
At this time, we kindly ask that you give the family the space they need to grieve and be together. Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated during this difficult time. Any communication can be directed to TaQualla Butler.
If you should so desire, there are two ways to give during this time of need.
- *Tammera’s Vision: To honor Tammera’s legacy and keep her vision alive, we invite you to support her life’s mission. Please consider making a donation https://avioninstitute.app.neoncrm.com/campaigns/major-gifts-2024
- *Tammera’s Family: We will be collecting cards of thought and sympathy for the family. If you would like to send a card or monetary contribution, they are asking for gift cards at this time. Please mail to:

“Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations. If you adopt their attitudes, then the possibility won’t exist because you’ll have already shut it out…
You can hear other people’s wisdom, but you’ve got to re-evaluate
the world for yourself.”
